Norman fucking Rockwell is a great album, never really paid attention to her before it.

It's all about being obsessed with males and their dicks. She says multiple times how she wants males to treat her bad and she can only be something with a male.ó«ó«ó«

A terrific artist but an unlikeable person. Gotta give her credit for not playing the game like Taylor Swift and Katy Perry though, her career never really exploded for that very reason but she's more respected as an artist.

I even went to a concert. Gay men love her. Very talented and mainstream but I have a feeling all her songs are the same

If she didn't sing so explicitly about men, it would be so good, I really enjoy her music even knowing that she mentions and sings about men, it's a turn off but still good.
And at least she is honest about it and not like other singers that say that they are bis or fluid or other bs and then only date men.
But yes, I avoid listening to some songs that are about abuse or where she refers to that book lolita.

I don't have a problem with her singing about men, that's not a criteria for me when I listen to music. But a lot of her lyrics are... questionable. Explicit. Creepy in a way. Uncomfortable. So I just have to ignore the meaning of her songs and enjoy the music. Maybe it's easier for me since English isn't my first language. I mean I understand perfectly what she's singing when I listen closely. But when I don't pay attention it's easier to ignore the meaning of her lyrics.

I haven't listened to any song from Ultraviolence, I keep reading that it's a very good album but still, I'm avoiding it, I prefer the love songs.

Music wise: great voice, but as many have said, I'd enjoy it more if 90% of her songs weren't about men and glorifying abusive relationships. I find her more recent music quite bland as well.

Looks wise: She used to be pretty, but I find her very average now. Last time I saw her she looked like your stereotypical Karen but younger.

Personality: I mean ... in the words of D'Angelo Wallace, "Lana Del Rey has Lana Del lost it." She's said a lot of stuff that gives me second-hand embarassment.

Fashion: Best thing about her. Her vintage style is great and she's always well-dressed.

I have read that she has been criticized for "glamorizing" violence and abuse, on which album does she sing about that? Ultraviolence? I like her.

So I've been avoiding her music because I felt that she was too straight for me but recently I decided to take a listen again and wow I'm soooo late. Her music is great. Her albums were not disappointing at all. It's v cinematic and tells engaging stories. Summertime Sadness was a wlw love story and she didn't change gender for her Doin' Time cover. I think she had been with women before but definitely prefers men.

I have never understood why these few threads are tucked away in this section. It's very strange to me.

Because her "trad wife Miss America" lyrics are deemed controversial. Have you actually listened to her music? She's incredible. Certainly one of the most talented and prolific female artists today.

I think shes very talented. Norman Fucking Rockwell was a great album, the production is great.
However I really hate how her music started this trend of straight girls on tiktok(and tumblr back in the day( who want to be abused by older men and who "love their boyfriend" who is 25 years older than them. literally every trad-larper with an eating disorder listens to her. Her music has produced the most irritating type of straight woman.
