what happened to her career?

I actually feel like her career is oddly steady given her skills and reputation? She's not a good actress and she's over 40 with a lot of a baggage but she still has a central role in a huge ongoing franchise and recently got cast in another big budget studio tentpole. She just isn't in the tabloids anymore because Elizabeth made her behave for a couple years.
