It took a couple of days but people are recalibrating to the fact that this album is "just what the doctor ordered" during these unpredictable Covid times. Genuinely chill and relaxing, soothing melodies. The music video is impressive too when you actually pay attention. Great timing overall

^^ I agree. Also to people to adjust to the fact this is Taylor Swift. If you didn't know or listen to her slower, lyrically based songs on the albums full of bops then....I can imagine this being quite a shift.

Idk but I feel this song too much. To me is about me never having the courage to come out..

I just read that there are no male pronouns in the entire album. Which is shocking to me.

She also liked a tweet saying august = 8 month and 8 = track which means she thinks about EVERYthing.
There's no coincidence wgen it comes to her. She thinks about everything and she knows exactly what she's doing.

This album is so mature. And how cool is it that you can finally hear an entire album from a woman and you don't feel like she's singing about men? Like you can relate 100% about everything? I don't even care if a song can be from a male POV or not cause it doesn't matter. The whole song a woman singing to another woman and this is the best shit ever. The whole album feels like it.

Other than James being a feminine name (using Blake and Ryan’s daughter’s name), the end doesn’t make sense if we’re to believe that James is a boy. What kinda boy wears his girlfriend’s cardigan???

have we come to any conclusion on who Betty/the other woman could possibly be or symbolises?

(I think at this point we can all agree that James is possibly Taylor?) :spy:

betty is so gay and you won't convince me otherwise. There's no way that is about a boy being unfaithful, the words she uses, the way she describes the situation... that only can be experienced by queer people.

At this point, if she's not gay, why keeps on releasing songs like this? I don't know how I would feel if she marries a man someday. Just weirded out I guess.

I don’t think lalalalala was pointing out what you guys found out. If lalalalalala intends to come back one day, what’s so important about this painting?
Taylor is queen of not putting anything in any space of frame that is just there for no reason. It's pretty significant that in the video for Cardigan there's a zoomed shot of this photo. Cardigan is currently being widely speculated to be about Dianna.

In Peace, the lyrics 'you paint dreamscapes on the wall' is significant to tying back to the video and an image of a 'dreamscape' on a wall.
Sorry but no, that’s reaching. I don’t believe Peace is about Dianna. The clues are very very tiny and don’t add up.

Folklore songs related to Diann & Karlie (IMHO)
  • The 1-Dianna
  • Cardingan-Karlie
  • August -Dianna
  • this is me trying - Dianna
  • illicit affair - Karlie
  • mad woman - Karlie
  • betty - Karlie & Dianna
*songs related to fire and gold - karlie
*songs related to water and nature - dianna

It's off-topic but... she doesn't identify as lesbian, she says sexuality is fluid.

I don't think so, most of the celebs posting with the cardigan is because Taylor send it to them.
The general public that buy it haven't receive theirs yet.
