Re: Would You Forgive A Cheating Gf?
No. On top of wiping out any trust between us, it'll be a clear sign that she's lost interest in me. Time to cut ties.
Re: Would You Forgive A Cheating Gf?
NO. Someone being a cheat is a sign that they are a narcissist.

Maybe if I'd tried really hard. Depends on the circumstances.
Re: Would You Forgive A Cheating Gf?
I doubt I would forgive them.
If they had tried to communicate and work things out with me first then the blame would be partly mine and forgiveness would be possible. If they were just being selfish, sneaky and unfaithful then bye.

Re: Would You Forgive A Cheating Gf?
I might forgive but I may not be able to trust her again, so I’ll probably just end the relationship.

Why are were these really old threads revived and other threads like the IWTSS thread killed off. Seriously mods get your act together
Re: Would You Forgive A Cheating Gf?
Why exactly would you forgive. That's the real question to ask.
Re: Would You Forgive A Cheating Gf?
From experience, if she is cheating and you forgive her? she's then relieved she fooled you. You stay and forgive her is like giving her a lifetime free pass to everything. Cheating breaks respect and trust, she doesn't respect you to do that and your trust is gone forever.Guest wrote: ↑01 Jul 2020, 00:57Why exactly would you forgive. That's the real question to ask.

It's usually a co dependant relationship, more times than not a cheater has a personality disorder and for the non cheater it wears thin eventually. It's a toxic relationship.Guest wrote: ↑01 Jul 2020, 01:05I wonder how you can care about someone who cheated on you enough to care about forgiving them.

Re: Would You Forgive A Cheating Gf?
Because people with PD (which is a broad spectrum of disorders) are prone to cheating, it's part of their illness. Note I did say more times than not, meaning a great amount do have a PD, those who don't are still a person who acts dishonestly in order to gain an advantage. someone with issues.Guest wrote: ↑01 Jul 2020, 01:15Why personality disorder? OK. I didn't know about this. Re: Would You Forgive A Cheating Gf?
Where cheating is ongoing in a persons life then PD is usually the problem. A smaller and I underline smaller group of women, may cheat because they are feeling emotional disconnection from a partner, and feel unappreciated, lonely, and sad, in a long term relationship or marriage, but again this stems from issues, usually the cheater is insecure within themselves. These emotions sometimes lead to secondary feelings of anger and resentment. Another group are people who are opportunists and cheat to do so without any other motivators. It's complex, but where anyone can't be honest and finish a relationship before seeking out with others? the problems within them are highlighted in those different groups and for different reasons.Guest wrote: ↑01 Jul 2020, 01:33OK. Re: Would You Forgive A Cheating Gf?
No one is immune to temptation. Some of them did not plan to cheat. But, you know after 15-20 years of being in a relationship with the same person, they get bored and they meet someone “exciting” and they’re not strong enough to fight it.
Re: Would You Forgive A Cheating Gf?
Yes true, however the person is usually insecure within themselves, lacks the ability to communicate their needs in an honest way. If the relationship is done, nothing stops anyone from speaking out where they intend to be in life, blaming the other person is weak. We are all responsible for our own actions.Guest wrote: ↑01 Jul 2020, 02:01No one is immune to temptation. Some of them did not plan to cheat. Re: Would You Forgive A Cheating Gf?
It could’ve started as something innocent. Then they would convince themselves that “She’s just so easy to talk to. We can talk about anything til 4am. But she’s really just a friend, there’s nothing bad going on.” They don’t even realize that they’ve started emotionally cheating.
Re: Would You Forgive A Cheating Gf?
Emotional cheating is destructive, Emotionally you've shared your soul. You confided things that only your “closest” friend should be privy to, your partner. It may have taken you YEARS to have learned things about your partner …and they handed it over on a silver platter in a matter of weeks to… someone else! Now, not only have they betrayed you, they've made you feel inadequate . By confiding their soul so easily to someone else they have in essence said “Not only is this person better than you so much that I CHOOSE to cheat on you with them, they are a better confidante” (Obviously! since they did it so easily!) “ You do not adequately fulfill my needs in ANY way”. Like being abused. If theres a choice between mental abuse, or physical abuse…I would rather be punched in the face than have my brain and heart manipulated. Physical abuse makes it easier to say, “ Your an Asshole, I deserve better” . You know where you stand if someone just hurts you physically. Mental breaks you down, fills you with self doubt, makes you feel like it's your fault. So punch me in the face, and go screw the brain's out of some other woman. I'll press charges for battery, and hope your clit FALLS OFF ! Just dont mess with my head.Guest wrote: ↑01 Jul 2020, 02:25It could’ve started as something innocent. Re: Would You Forgive A Cheating Gf?
I was cheated on once. I forgave her. Then she did it again. I left her and moved out of state.
Lesson learned - if they cheat once, they will do it again. Therefore, I will end the relationship without hesitation.
Luckily, I haven’t been through it since. But it was a painful lesson to learn.

I'm sorry but I would never cheat on my partner. That's not even questionable. It's not something crazy.
Re: Would You Forgive A Cheating Gf?
No. I'm not saying everyone who's ever cheated is irredeemably evil or anything, but I know that for all my faults I would never do it, and I expect the same in return. If she betrayed my trust like that then she isn't who I thought she was, and I'm not so afraid of being alone to compromise on this.
Re: Would You Forgive A Cheating Gf?
One time I got cheated on and when she told me, I went out the next day and cheated on her 3 times on the same night. Never told her about it and she carried the guilt of having cheated on me through the rest of our relationship.

Lol nonsense. I’m a pisces and I’ve never cheated. Not in my nature at all.Guest wrote: ↑01 Jul 2020, 01:05Beware of geminis and pisceans, they cheat a lot
I would forgive, but not forget and as such would end the relationship. Been cheated on and I took her back and she did it again so wouldn’t do it again. As others have said; it completely destroys the trust.
Re: Would You Forgive A Cheating Gf?
I think I could forgive her giving certain circumstances, but I don’t think the relationship would survive it in the long run.
Also obviously she’d have to admit it and not me finding out.
Dealbreaker: Cheating after building an emotional relationship with the other woman (via texts, meet ups etc). Seriously, just break up before doing that.
“Forgivable”: (Spontaneous) hook up with a stranger.

Re: Would You Forgive A Cheating Gf?
Well I've had my fair share rather unfair share of this--
I forgave her like twice-- Then she fooled me again
How silly of me to be so gullible. Anyway I did love her like for real. I even thought she was going to be my forever in replacement of Icerabbit. However, some people I'm not saying all I guess are really just liars and cheaters. Unfortunately, I fell and got fooled by her.
So no and never again
Lesson learnt. I easily got over her though unlike what I'm feeling for my one and only Icerabbit
Tragic and poignant

Re: Would You Forgive A Cheating Gf?
No. It’s definitely a dealbreaker. If I decided to forgive the person i’d turn into an annoying, insecure person who’s always suspicious and paranoid they’re gonna cheat on me again. I think once the trust is broken like that, they’ll do it to you again. don’t be a fool and take them back

Re: Would You Forgive A Cheating Gf?
I didn’t feel insecure when the girl that cheated on me did it, it turned me in to someone who didn’t care what she did and went pretty numb. When I walked away that was it. I genuinely felt absolutely nothing for her, not anger, not hate just nothingness and I never spoke to her again.Guest wrote: ↑01 Jul 2020, 18:11No. It’s definitely a dealbreaker. After begging for months and buying flowers and gifts, why not
Re: Would You Forgive A Cheating Gf?
Never. Cheaters are garbage and I'm too old for this shit. You're either a decent person or you're not.

Would you date someone who cheated on their previous relationship?
