Wordle 210 3/6

🟨⬜🟨⬜⬜
⬜⬜🟨🟩🟨
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

So much of it comes down to being lucky with the first word
Hmm, but I think that's only if you care about getting it in the least number of tries. If it's just about solving, the first word'll always tell you something, even if it's all gray

Making the blocks shareable plays a big role in its popularity imo. The words are the same everyday, so it gives a sense of how you progressed through the puzzle, not just how many tries

I decided to give wordle a try but I had no idea how it worked or what I was supposed to do, so I just typed in random words.

Wordle 210 X/6

⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛
β¬›πŸŸ©β¬›β¬›β¬›

Green square means you got the correct letter in the correct place.
Yellow square means that letter is in the word but in a different place.
Dark square means that letter is not in the word, so don't bother using that letter in your next guesses.

These aren't screencaps, once you're finished, you get an option to share, which will copy the rows into your clipboard in this format

Re WORDLE - I’ve been very strict and played this in hard mode ie not reusing letters already greyed out and always including yellows somewhere else.
If not obvious it would be more strategic to put in another word with popular letters at second/third guess.
I’d get better results this way but enjoy the discipline.

Just wondered, how do you guys play?

I just use whatever is the default i.e. normal mode
But IDGI
"Any revealed hints must be used in subsequent guesses"
Why would anyone not use all revealed hints in subsequent guesses? It seems counterproductive not to do that.

I've never tried the hard mode but it's what I basically do anyway lol.

I have about 5 first words. This is the only random pick. Then 2nd word based on what hits or doesn't. By the third word I usually have a fairly good idea, even if it's mainly through excluded letters. It moves into logic puzzle territory by the 3rd word basically

I focus on locking down the vowels first.

DA They might use the second guess for a word with no letters from the first one, even if they had some green or yellow hits already, just so they can find out more about the actual answer word.

Thanks! OK I see how that approach could help. Especially with the green letters. I think something in me must like the added discipline of sticking to the rules plus having the possibility of getting it correct on every guess.

You explained it perfectly. The blocks are color coded for error type. When you know what the answer is, you can get a partial sense of how hard it would be for yourself in that situation. That's what makes it shareable
