Most asexuals I know (albeit I don't know too many) would also use another label to indicate if they have any romantic interest in either sex (note that romantic interest isn't the same as sexual attraction, just like sexual attraction =/= sex drive). So you have aro/ace people who don't experience any sexual OR romantic attraction, but someone can identify as an asexual lesbian for example, meaning that woman is not sexually attracted to other women per se but could be interested in a romantic rs with them.
