You definitely right that it’s not serious for him. He spent money on mugs and a ring for promo of his ladybug album. But couldn’t give her a ring. You have to also remember that Demi picked him to co-write on a couple of songs. He didn't "get lucky". She picked him, probably thinking he had potential ("not anymore" he proved her wrong) And she needed and wanted a love story - personally and professionally.
