The saddest thing about this thread is that it's not even about celebrating lesbians, it's just a bunch of really angry, sad or/and either very privileged or very socially isolated lesbians using this space to hate on anyone who had anything to do with men,the focus is on the men, albeit in a hateful way, and it's other lesbians and other women attracted to women who suffer from this attitude.
Do any of you spewing hate on lesbians who have slept with men while closeted or while trying to figure themselves out and what not, realize that you are actually being extremely cruel and unfair and invalidating? Homophobia exists and it affects many, there's people who just shut themselves in, others who try desperately to fit in or hide because in that moment they mentally aren't in a place where they can cope with the hate and othering that comes with being gay, other people k1ll themselves, most gay people end up with some level of mental health damage(from depression and anxiety to PTSD), not everyone is immune to the pressure and conditioning still very real in all societies, even the most accepting ones. You are hating on lesbians who, while figuring themselves out or while internally terrified with the potential social consequences of being a lesbian, forced themselves to date men, to try being with a man, as reactions to the painful way in which society still others being gay and treats gay people as untermensch, gay love as less than, etc. The fact they did this instead of just being openly gay, freely and happily embracing and acting on their actual feelings and desires, like hetero people get to do, is related to the trauma of homophobia that most of us suffer in some way or another, it's disrespectful to deny this and deny their sexuality being lesbian, not because there's a shame in being bisexual but simply because it's denying their experience with homophobia, the coping mechanisms homophobia pushed them into. This is like victim blaming. There is actually a lot that on here, not just in this thread, you hate everyone who isn't a femme, thin, gold star lesbian who never touched a man but also perfectly fits heteronormative, male serving beauty standards. You hate hetero women for being hetero as if that's a choice, you hate bisexuals because they like men too, you hate "masculine" women for not adhering to femininity definitions designed by men to keep women down and hold them from competing equally with them and because you want hetero men and women to perceive lesbians as hot and cool in a heteronormative way, everything actually still revolves around men although you hate men. Your whole perception of a woman's worth is in her relationship(or lack there of) with men and how desirable she is by male designed standards, which is extra sad. In a way, you're no different from hetero society and men who ascribe worth to a woman by how attractive she is in specific ways, how many men have "had" her(the fewer the better ofc, otherwise she's spoiled goods), how available she is to you. A lesbian(and women in general) isn't ruined by having been with a man and it's common for gay people to try and live the hetero life before coming out, not because that's their sexual preference but for other reasons that have to with homophobia, it's not something pleasurable or fun, the opposite really.
To really, genuinely think that no "real" lesbian will date or sleep with a man for reasons other than genuine attraction, one has to either be born and raised in a super privileged social environment(urban, comfortably middle class, LGBT friendly), thus being very ignorant and unappreciative of how lucky they are to have never felt the amount of pressure or/and confusion most lesbians(homosexuals in general actually) have to deal with, or be so socially isolated, rejected, incel like mentally, that you blame others for everything and loathe all lesbians and women leaning bisexuals who at some point or another dated or slept with men to cope with social pressure, stigma, etc.
Stoped reading after the first Paragraf, but let me guess, buhu peer pressure in my western country totally forced me to suck D and sleep around with men (like my religious parents wanted) and you are all terrible and mean and incels and im totally a lesbian, with my two kids and ex hubby is super supportive why arent you.
Let me repeat what has written here again and again:
- Lesbians dont have to work, think or do anything hard to not sleep with men or to not be attracted towards men. We are born this way, we naturally dont want to have anything sexual with men.
- Women that are forced to have sex with men (raped, blackmailed, live in such a homophobic country they have to fear for their live if they dont get married) are still lesbians, but i bet all my money you dont live in Iran or Afghanistan.
- Goldstars get harassed, talked to, annoyed and pressured just as much as every woman to find a man, sleep with a man or whatever. Goldstars also deal with homophobs around them or are kicked out by their families, still they dont fuck with men, you know why CAUSE THEY ARE LESBIANS.
- Most lesbians from homophobic countries are Goldstars, you know why? Cause actual religious/conservative parents dont tell you to fuck around with men
- Bisexual isnt a dirty word or a dirty live. Having sex with both sexes means your bisexual. Stop being biphobic and be what you are. Clearly you hate bisexuality if you think thats less then being a lesbian or something.
Did i miss something?
DA I agree with everything you said but these girls aren't even biphobic, they don't think bisexuality is a dirty word. Bisexuals LOVE being bisexual. What they do hate is lesbians, they think lesbianism is too "exclusive" unlike the amazing & incloooosive bisexuality.
Bisexual women are all homophobes who don't believe female homosexuality exists. They all believe that deep down lesbians are just kinsey 5 bisexual women. This is why women like OP try so hard to pass off their experience as the lesbian experience & harass any lesbian who says otherwise.
DA
Nothing the OP said suggests she believes homosexuality doesn't exist, or was disrespectful to lesbians. She was merely expressing her experience. And I tend to agree that people who don't have the luxury of living in a gay friendly environment, or can be insular (because that is a luxury too, not everybody can afford to isolate themselves), and therefore professionaly needs the approval of the wider society, are much more pressured than we are. No need to be nasty, as if some lesbians are better than others. I'm a platinum star, but I wouldn't be in a relationship with a lesbian just because she's a goldstar. It's absurd.
DA Bullshit. So you are saying lesbians aren’t born gay ?Under wrong circumstances lesbians fuck men? Really? I think the problem here is that ignorant bisexuals dont want accept themselves. Its just disrespectful behaviour to lesbians.
Not the other poster, but people have sex with people they aren't attracted to all the time. I think most non gold star lesbians are bisexual. But it is silly to go up to someone who say is in their 60s and 70s and say they aren't a lesbian because they married a dude in their youth or someone from a very religious background.
You are erasing gay history by pretending no lesbian has ever had relationships with men. Being a lesbian means NOT being attracted to men or wanting to have sex with men. It has nothing to do with not being capable of having relations with them.
