Does this volunteer program still exist?

How many active MODS are there?

What are the moderation guidelines for the forum currently?

Is it just me or does this place feel more abandoned than ever by administration?

I feel like there may just be one or two MODS and their methods appear to be coming from a firm state of idgaf, which I can’t blame them for.

I’d volunteer to help them out to moderate one of L Chat’s more notoriously problematic threads but I don’t think thoughtful moderation is the goal anymore. Is this the final phase?
QM: To add, I’ve been an active member of the L Chat community for nearly 10 years. When I first arrived here the MOD I became familiar with was Breezy. I was always impressed with the fair, thoughtful and dependable way she approached moderation. Given the chance, I’d model my moderation style after her. I would have to alter the way I’ve participated here and that might get tricky at times but I am naturally a very fair person and believe I can be helpful. I’d rather just be “guest” but I see this community fading and it’s meant something to me over the years, I want to help save the thread that’s in fast decline.

For the record I wanted to start a thread about cults but fear it would attract some of their defenders. It’s best to moderate. I believe I qualify to be a moderator.

Why dis you ban my account? Give me a legitimate reason.

You have a dictator like moderator, going around banning peoples IP addresses if she/he doesn’t like your opinion even though you’re on topic.

She will probably ban me after this post.

I want to know how to apply to be a member or mod so that I can manage the Englot discord when created. Thanks

We need a more active mod in the Kristen Stewart thread, it's getting out of hand. I'd volunteer but some random posters there hate me because I don't talk shit about Kristen's current and past partners apparently and thus I am labeled a Stan. Not sure what that's about but we need someone to step in, it's insane over there.
I'm sorry, you and crickets are nice, kind and devoted fans, but you both have shipper stan.
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the couple, but I still remember the last time we had a partial mod that went crazy at the end.
I think the best thing would be for the admins to take care of the thread, we'll bring the links to the trolls' posts and they delete them.
BTW, where are all the Administrators, anyway? Only one or two moderators have responded.

Remember this?

thelchat.net needs to add something to the The L Chat Forum Rules that lists prohibited content and behavior by Users; because other than the wordy first two paragraphs, when someone tells an OP "you are violating TLC's rules" there is currently very little to point to that provides a direct and clear understanding of what the specific rules are for TLC's users.

The last thing lchat needs is another biased stan as a mod
stan - an overzealous or obsessive fan
biased - unfairly prejudiced for or against someone or something.
I'm not sure, especially on the biased aspect. I believe in facts. I'm a stickler for facts. At the very least, someone will mod.

I follow several threads. I only reported baiting I'm familiar with. Or are you the resident troll afraid your trolling might get affected?

I volunteer as temporary.

Yes mods, if we can get extra help to deal with the targeted trolling in Wallis' thread, that'd be great. I also notice trolls being particularly hateful in Cara's thread too.

Re: Moderators - Volunteer Instructions

Rule of thumb -

If a mod engages in viewpoint discrimination and deletes posts or bans people based on pov, it will drive people away and elicit complaints

If a mod allows people to speak freely, more people will be drawn to it. That will also draw complaints, but on this forum that's a constant.

Any would-be mod should bear that in mind.

We need a new mod for the Fletcher thread. Ours is irredeemably stupid.
