Happy birthday Earl!!

Months ago I shared my Batman crossed the rainbow bridge and how guilty I felt. Today I share that all the kittens we rescued were adopted except one that was supposed to be adopted but long story short we didn’t think that person was ready to have a pet.
Anyways, that last kitten has stayed with us while we “find” him a home. Today we decided to keep Simba. He is the sweetest boy. Him and our princess (Batman’s sister who suffer a lot with her passing) are inseparable. We don’t want to torn them apart. Batmans was always taking care of her sis and now she is like a mother figure for Simba. They adore each other and we are happy they have each other.

Thank you for your kind words when I lost my Batman.

Hello everyone , hope you're all good and that your pussies are doing well. Thought I'd give you an update on my Cleo, She's doing very well , one year after a vet told me she would die within a year she got an excellent bill of health last week, The vet did told me that for a cat who's cat thyroid problem she is a bit too fat lol.
She still love to slap her big brother Buddy and he take like a champ . Buddy not doing so well , hes getting old and hes on cortisone shot and his heart is not so good . Right now we are not pursuing anything further and we just want to make him feel comfortable .Hes got up and down but he still very mischevious lol

Glad to hear that Cleo is doing well, I am sure Buddy is happy enough in his old age, it happens to us all

Loss and guilt often go hand in hand when you lose a pet. When Chickster crossed rainbow bridge last year we worried we had taken her to the vet too soon but we knew deep down we hadn't. You did your very best for all of the cats and kittens, giving them a chance of life and experiencing affection.

Thank you for your kind words. I’m still feeling a lot a guilt even tho I know you are right we rescued her and gave her a good life. I’m missing her her wake up calls at 4 am. I’m missing her being first one to welcome us home because she was “hungry”
Some many what if… sorry for venting… I think I’m very sensible cause my dad’s anniversary is less than 2 months. I never really grieve him and seeing Batman yesterday opened up wounds.

Re: Cat feet; are fucking brilliant.

😢

You rescued her. She would probably have died last year if you hadn’t taken her in. You gave her a good life in the meantime. The ‘added stress’ (your words) was only due to you and your family being kind and rescuing MORE animals. That other litter could have perished.

Don’t beat yourself up. Grieve of course but be kind to yourself. Focus on looking after the rest of Batmans family

RIP Batman 🐈⬛

Last year we rescued some kittens. They were walking around the neighborhood all hungry. We feed them and have them shelter. Eventually when they trusted us we took them home and adopted them.
Our Batman the leader one who was more like a loner was killed. She was the biggest and chubbiest. She had the cutest walk. Couple a weeks ago a cat started showing at our house, we feed her and just last week she showed up with her litter 4 cute kittens. We gave them shelter in our backyard. It created an issued with our Batman cause she was very protective of her sisters. We decided to keep our indoors while we found a home for mama cat and kittens.
Last night she was restless. She kept meowing she wanted to go out. It was already late night.
I grabbed her and started petting her and was meowing like when she was a kitten.
We heard noises in the back door. It was mama cat. My sister cracked door open to see what was going on and Batman took the opportunity and fled. She had tried before when my mom arrived from work and I was abled to catch her before she was out. This time I wasn’t lucky. We decided to give her some minutes cause she never went far. She would usually be by our front yard. Standing on top out cars. When we went out to look at for her she wasn’t closed by. Today would be my day off so I told everyone to go to sleep and that I would keep an eye for her. When they were still kittens and were starting to trust us, they would knock on a bell we have by the door to ask us for food. I thought Batman would be back and knocked like they did. Early morning and she still no back. It’s cold so I go out to look for her again and nothing. By 4 am, I asked my sister to go with me to look for her. That’s her feeding time and she never missed it.
We look all around our street and surrounding area and nothing. When we were about to head home, I told my sister let’s take this road home. We weren’t there long when my sister yelled there is a dead cat in the road. It was our Batman. That little white boot we would recognize it anywhere.
Our hearts broke. My little girl there lying live less while I was waiting for her at home. We already buried her in our backyard. I hit me really bad. I feel so guilty for not holding on to her stronger, for not going after her right when she left, for adding the stress of new cats. She didn’t deserve to die like that. Her little head was all messed up
I feel so bad
I am so sorry
