Anyone got info/cool stories from the Warrior Nun convention this weekend? I heard the actresses who played Beatrice, Mary, Camila, and Mother Superion were there & one of the directors (she directed s2e1&2) attended
Apparently Dean was there, and a few people talked to him about the movies

What was said (which idk how reliable Dean really is) was basically:
-They don’t own the rights to Beatrice’s character
-They do own the rights to Ava, Mary Mother Superion, and others (don’t know specifically which others)
-He said “of course” when asked if he wanted to keep the same cast (which probably means of course I WANT to, but it’s probably a reach to actually execute)
-The basis of the movie trilogy will stay similar to the show, not the comics like everyone was afraid of
-However, that said, they don’t own the rights to season 2, so we can probably throw a continuation of the show out of our hopes for the movies. If anything, it’ll be a new storyline with new characters with similarities to Ava in season 1
-Basically, when people asked why they’re changing/not continuing the show’s storyline he would respond with “why change what works?”
Cont…
I think at best, he might still try to wait & negotiate with Netflix to get the rights to season 2’s story & characters he doesn’t own, like Beatrice. But honestly, I don’t know if I see Alba being in the movies, even if that becomes an option, and it would be really weird to do movies without characters like Beatrice to be honest. And as much as I absolutely love Ava’s character & story, what really makes her compelling is her relationship with Beatrice, since that’s where she shows the most selflessness & care for someone beside herself.
Some people are taking this as a good sign, and it made me excited too… but after sleeping on it, it really doesn’t sound plausible that we’ll get any continuation/negotiation in our favor for Ava, Bea, & the others’ stories.
Most likely it’ll just be a spin off series
But I’d like to think that there’s another universe out there where we did get another season & Ava & Bea reunited, ended the upcoming holy war with their sister warriors, & got to live a life in peace together… enjoying their time alive and at peace in a loving relationship amongst their friends
Because that was most likely where the story was going to go anyway; Ava would come back & come full circle & the last few scenes of the series in the finale would be them together finally
