Cat probably will take a break, she hasn't really stopped working since she was in college. But I think as long as Cat has consistent work after Grey's she will be fine. She might not land another gig that runs for multiple seasons with as many eps as Grey's. Cause let's be honest, no one does. But if she chooses to work and stays booked and busy with project after project, plus her residuals, she will probably be fine financially. I mean, Cat could drop something as boring as a clothing line or just Grey's inspired merch, and people would buy it.
Although I do worry that post Grey's, lots of productions might be operating either out of California or overseas. I saw some stuff about how a lot of tv and films have been moving out of the US in recent years. Like loads of tv production moves to Canada, some overseas for one off shows or shows filmed once every two years. And lots of movies are also being filmed in places like the UK or Europe or Australia. These new tariffs are also not helping the film industry either. I'm worried Cat might not have that much choice with work if a majority of them are not in California. I don't know, maybe by that time, her kids will be grown and she can afford to work away from home for long periods. But if it's within the next few years when Grey's ends and she's looking for her next project, she may have no choice but to work overseas for periods of time. But her residuals will probably be enough for her to not work a while.
I can't imagine Cat doing stuff like perfume or cosmetic or skin care lines or whatever sidequests celebs have going on these days. But I can see her doing writing. She did say she'd love to write books, so if she does that, she'd probably be okay too. Cause books, particularly children's and YA books do really well. Or self help and inspirational books do quite well too. I wouldn't mind reading some words of wisdoms and nuggets of knowledge from her. Whatever she does post Grey's, I hope she does take a break first. And we'll all support whatever she does.
